Greene County High School senior Paul Blake earned honors at the Iowa Industrial Expo May 10 at Southeast Polk High School.
Paul earned first place ribbons with his coffee table with black epoxy and his charcuterie board with black epoxy; second place ribbons for his walnut charcuterie board and end table with blue epoxy; and a third place medal in Division 4, which is the top advanced division. Division 4 is an overall category for advanced students. “Placing third is quite an accomplishment,” a school spokesperson said.
He was accompanied at the expo by his father Larry Blake and his instructor Andrew Brouwer.
Paul built the projects in his advanced woods class and during his free time. He hopes to continue his passion in the future by continuing to build more projects.
